‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Choreographer Alex Da Silva Gets 10 Years in Prison for Rape
“So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Alex Da Silva has just been sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a former dance student … and assaulting another.
43-year-old Da Silva was arrested back in 2009 and charged with multiple felonies stemming from allegations he raped and sexually assaulted four women … all former dance students between the ages of 20 and 26.
Da Silva was only convicted of one count of rape and one count of assault with intent to commit rape.
The jury deadlocked on the remaining charges, which were subsequently dismissed.
Da Silva — who appeared on Seasons 1-4 of SYTYCD — was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

“Albert Nobbs”: In Theaters Now!
Earning an endless array of rave reviews ahead of its long-awaited release, “Albert Nobbs” has finally made its way to the box office (January 27).
Shot in Dublin, Ireland, the film stars Glenn Close as a woman who plays a man in order to join the workforce in Ireland in the 1800s in the big screen adaptation of George Moore?s short story, ?The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs”.
Of the film, the legendary Close told press, “I believe in this story and its potential to take everyone on a sensuous, funny, heart-breaking, wildly unexpected ride.?
Adding to the excitement of the project, Glenn has just been named as one of the nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2012 Academy Awards.

Chelsy Davy Hits the Town with Princess Eugenie
Looking to blow off some steam, Chelsy Davy was spotted tearing up the town in London, England last night (January 26).
The former love of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie (Harry?s cousin) dropped by the Brompton Club in the Kensington neighborhood, attracting plenty of attention along the way.
Chelsy and Eugeine weren?t the only famous faces in the crowd at Brompton- Geri Halliwell?s ex-boyfriend Henry Beckwith also showed up.
And though Ms. Davy is no longer romantically linked to the Prince, she loves to stay in contact with the Royal Family- she was spotted hanging out with Lady Kitty Spencer earlier this month.

Seal Shares Divorce News With Kids
They?re one of the most prominent celebrity couples in Tinseltown, so when Seal and Heidi Klum decided to call it quits, everyone was shocked.
In a new interview the ?Crazy? singer explained the process by which he and his ?Project Runway? wife broke the news to their four kids.
Seal began, “We talk to them, we try to explain as best we could what is going on. [We're] just explaining to them that things will be different, you know, without going into too much detail. Things will be different.”
He continued, ?A lot of things won’t change. The main thing is to make sure that they feel that they’re loved. Make sure they understand that their parents love each other [and] … it has absolutely nothing to do with them.”
And when it comes to getting separate time with the kiddos- ?In actual fact, it may even improve the amount of time that we spend with them. Quality time.”

“Man on a Ledge”: In Theaters Now!
It’s one of the most anticipated crime/thrillers in recent time, and now “Man on a Ledge” has arrived in theaters (January 27) just in time for weekend moviegoers.
Starring Elizabeth Banks and Sam Worthington, the Asger Leth film centers on “a police psychologist who works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion”
While talking with press about the project, Miss Banks explained, “Really, everything’s in the title. It’s about a man on a ledge, and the people around him who are trying to figure out why he’s on the ledge, and how to get him off the ledge before he falls off and dies.”
Worthington also chimed in, adding, “Good action really comes down to the stakes, what’s at stake, whether it’s rescuing the girl, getting the diamonds or whatever. [The main character] is battling for his life in the ultimate extreme, just on a ledge. He’s on the edge on the ledge. Because the stakes are so high, I think that’s why we can label it a thriller, an action thriller.”

Nick Offerman Talks ‘Juicy’ ‘Parks And Recreation’ Developments
As the latest season of “Parks and Recreation” rolls along, fans of the quirky NBC comedy have been rooting for the show’s leading lady, Leslie Knope, as she tries to win the hearts of the folks in Pawnee, Indiana, by running for a spot on the city council.
But Leslie isn’t having all the fun. Pawnee’s resident curmudgeon, Ron Swanson (played by Nick Offerman), is finding himself caught up in an unexpected friendship with the always-optimistic government star Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe). As always, Swanson is working to make sure government doesn’t run smoothly, and of course he faces the possibility that one of his ex-wives could show up and bring their own brand of trouble to his life.
“If we can help it,” Offerman told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival when asked if there would be a chance to bring back one of his character’s former wives, both named Tammy (one played by his real-life wife, Megan Mullally, and the other by Oscar nominee Patricia Clarkson). “I know that there’s one juicy story coming up in the fall for Tammy Two, the evil Tammy Two [Mullally].”
But until then, Offerman, offscreen, will be wearing another hat. He recently wrote one of the show’s upcoming episodes, and in addition to some more Knope-related election excitement there will also be a shakeup in his character’s romantic life.
“Oh gosh. It was so fun and exciting and crazy. The episode is called ‘Lucky.’ Leslie Knope gets this really lucky interview with sort of the Anderson Cooper of Indianapolis. But then the interview is canceled and it comes back on, and some hilarity ensues,” he explained. “Meanwhile, Ron Swanson and Chris Traeger are vying for the attentions of Andy Dwyer’s women’s studies college professor. It’s very funny.”

Florida Presidential Debate Highlights: Ron Paul Style!
Asked at last night’s Florida Republican debate if Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich should return money made from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Ron Paul responded:
“That subject really doesn’t interest me a whole lot.”
The Texas congressman might not be #1 in the polls, but he showed last night that when given a proper forum, he’s as substantive as anyone – and funny too.
Asked where he stands on Newt Gingrich’s proposal to put a permanent base on the moon by 2020, Paul said, “Well, I don’t think we should go to the moon.”
“I think we maybe should send some politicians up there.”
Paul, who at 76 would be the oldest person ever elected President of the United States also drew cheers in his response to a question about his medical records.
Noting that his records are “about one page, if even that long,” Paul challenged his cohorts to “a 25-mile bike ride, any time, any day in the heat of Texas.”
But, you know, there are laws against age discrimination, so if you push this too much, you better be careful,” he quipped, and he wasn’t done by a long shot.
Asked by CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer what he would say if Raul Castro called him in the Oval Office, Paul said, “Well, I’d ask what he called about, you know?”
Which isn’t to say Paul’s wit was his only asset. He routinely scored points with his strong responses, especially regarding monetary policy and civil liberties.
Florida’s primary is Tuesday, January 31.

Daniel Radcliffe Premieres ?The Woman in Black? in Toronto
Showing some love to his Canadian fans, Daniel Radcliffe was spotted at the premiere of his new flick ?The Woman in Black? in Toronto last night (January 26).
Mr. Radcliffe showed up at Scotiabank Theatre in a dapper black suit and greeted the press before heading inside for the exclusive screening.
As for his best-known role in the ?Harry Potter? film franchise, Daniel confessed that he?ll never close the door on the possibility of reprising the character.
?If it was good enough, I would be Harry Potter again. If it was anything short of good enough, I would say no. I know I wouldn?t be Harry again for nostalgic or dutiful reasons. Demi Moore Lucks Out On 911 Tape
Demi Moore could get seriously lucky just before the release of the 911 call that was made before she was taken to the hospital earlier this week.
First of all, I want to clear that I am not making light of her ended up in the hospital. I am also not making fun of her if she has a real substance abuse problem.
With that said, what the heck is going on? Usually the dirty and even disturbing details are aired out when celebrities find themselves in these kind of situations. Instead, word has it that the tape of the 911 call will be edited so that it doesn?t include specific references to the drugs that were allegedly involved or even the friends that were involved.
So what exactly will be on the tape now anyway? I think it might go something like this ?okay, so we have a woman here who has collapsed. Help, please.?
How silly is that?
In case you didn?t know, sources have claimed that she was doing nitrous oxide right before she had a near seizure. That is just plain embarrassing. Those aren?t even really illegal anyway, but there is some kind of loophole that allows them to be sold ?for culinary purposes.?
So let me get this one right. One of the biggest stars in Hollywood did a few ?whip-its? then collapsed. Why is that such a big deal to hide?
TMZ says that it is the LA City Attorney who is suggesting that certain things be taken out of the tape.
The real question is whether or not this has to do with her falling out with Ashton, or if she has an even bigger problem.
We will find out soon, even if the 911 tape has all of the juicy stuff taken out of it.

Madonna Calls M.D.N.A. ‘Action-Packed’
Madonna has teased fans not only inadvertently with a leaked demo of her first single for “Gimme All Your Luvin,” but also with “Masterpiece” (which also appears on the soundtrack for her film, “W.E.”). So far it seems that the two very different tracks show the two very different sides that the Queen of Pop is pursuing on her next studio release, M.D.N.A.
While “Gimme” plays up Madge’s playful, upbeat persona, “Masterpiece,” as she explained to MTV News, is a different story. ” ‘Masterpiece’ is one of the few kind of more down-tempo songs, more reflective,” she told MTV News at the New York City premiere of “W.E.”
“I think the majority of the record is more action-packed,” she teased. “More high-energy.” It seems, then, that what fans have heard of “Gimme” is more of what they will hear on the album.
The album will reportedly get a March release date. It features production from Martin Solveig on its lead single, which gets some presumably sassy assists from two fierce female MCs, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Both ladies will reportedly take the stage with the pop icon to perform the track at the Super Bowl halftime show.
Madonna also worked with longtime collaborator and Ray Of Light producer William Orbit, who produced the Golden Globe-winning “Masterpiece.” “We’ve worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other’s sentences. He knows my taste and what I like,” she explained at the premiere. “Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together.”
At the Globes, Madonna recalled how “Masterpiece” came together. “[My manager Guy Oseary] harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song,” she said during her acceptance speech for Best Original Song. “And I said, ‘Please, Guy, I’m trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don’t have time.’ So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, ‘Masterpiece,’ so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating.”
